OCAD University Lifeline Syria Challenge
OCAD University is joining forces with York University and the University of Toronto to participate in Ryerson University’s "Lifeline Syria Challenge", creating a unified response by the GTA universities to the humanitarian crisis. The initiative’s goal is to bring 25 Syrian refugee families – or 100 individuals – to Canada.
The UN High Commission for Refugees calls this the biggest refugee crisis from a single conflict in a generation. More than four million Syrians have left their homeland with little hope of returning. Canada has promised to resettle 10,000 Syrians with the help of private sponsors.
